Just listened to this. Holy fuck do I need that sound. Every time I drift away from the XJS V12 slightly you post a video and I'm hooked right back in.

I am assuming you will need some really nice headers. A 6 into 1 is probably what they used, that really gives it that nice high pitched sound. Good luck!

Mmmmm yeah. Either that or a 6-3-1 bundle of snakes per bank. Nice good torque spread :)

Out of interest, do you know if there's a sound difference between the basic stock sort of log-manifold and a proper 6-3-1 or 6-2-1? I've uncorked the Jag's exhaust slightly, and it sounds good and meaty, but doesn't have much melody to it. I'm thinking that's because of the long exhaust system blending the pulses somewhat, but also the stock manifold is basically a cast-iron single tube.

Thinking of changing that if it'll fit :)

I find that the more into 1 exhausts sound a lot higher pitched and in turn better! Plus you get better top end, in turn for a little lower mid range performance. I find that most racing teams do that. Sometimes they even do stuff like 8 into 1!! The GP2 cars have this and they sound 100x better than the F1 V8s!

I think they already have pre-made headers for the V12 Jag, so I am sure you can make it fit. It is kind of annoying how little room there appears to be in the engine bay though.

The GP2 cars do sound absolutely amazing. I wonder what setup the TWR Jags ran, because they sound immense as well :)

The engine bay in the XJS is huge, but so is the V12 :S there must be space for decent headers though. I struggle to see them making the power they did in the Group A cars on log-style manifolds.
